Dear all,
As we are having many requests for an organized excursion to Venice, for EHPS conference participants and accompanying persons, we will offer two possible dates to see whether there will be a minimum participation to make these excursions possible.
One option is on Wednesday 30th August; starting from NH hotel at 3pm and returning at 8pm (this will mainly be for accompanying persons, as there will be sessions and lectures going on, on that afternoon).
The other option is on Saturday 2nd September, at the end of the conference (2pm-7pm). If you are still in Italy on that day, give preference to this date, as it is most likely to happen.
The ride will be in air-conditioned busses that will bring you, through the exclusive residential area of Padova and its outskirts, to Venice (40 min ride). Your Venetian guide will be waiting for you on Tronchetto island, to take you by boat, (20 min ride) into St Mark’s Square. From there, you will start a walking guided tour that will end up at Rialto Bridge. You will have the chance to see the canals and the gondolas, hear all about the history of this amazing, world-famous place and will also be given 20 minutes of free time, to buy your souvenirs or have a coffee. You will then go back to the boat that will transfer you to the bus, for your return to Venice.
Cost of this excursion to include, the bus and boat ride and the guide, as well as taxes will be 50 EUR.
PLEASE DECLARE PARTICIPATION BY FRIDAY 17th AUGUST following the link underneath; we will come back to you to confirm which excursion/s will eventually take place, so that you can go into the EasyConferences registration system and pay.

The local organizing committee has also made arrangements for free visits to Palazzo Bo for EHPS participants, on 29th August; the palazzo that was restored around 1550 by architect Andrea Moroni, with its monumental courtyard and the world’s first permanent anatomical theatre, as well as the Aula Magna (Grand Hall), with the podium which according to tradition, was used by Galileo himself, are certainly a must, for Padova visitors. Follow the same link above, to declare participation for that beautiful experience too. Do not forget to declare the time (see the link), if you are going for this visit.
Awaiting to hear from you as soon as possible !
Kind regards,
Melita Strati (Easy Conferences)
